Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Noreston Construction is a Class A licensed general contractor in Kansas, and we carry full general liability and worker's compensation insurance. We're glad to provide a certificate of insurance naming you as a certificate holder before work begins.
How soon can you start my project?
For smaller projects (bathroom remodels, decks, basement finishes), we can typically start in 3–6 weeks depending on material lead times. Custom homes and additions usually book out 2–4 months because of permit and engineering timelines. The first step is always a free in-home consultation — the sooner we walk the project, the sooner we can lock you in.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. The first conversation is always free: a phone or text screener, then a free in-home consultation for qualified projects. Within 5 business days of that walk, you'll receive a written, line-item estimate with scope, timeline, exclusions, and payment schedule — not a vague ballpark.
What's your payment schedule?
For most remodels and additions we use a deposit-plus-milestone schedule: ~10% deposit to reserve the slot, then payments tied to specific completion milestones (rough-in, drywall, trim, punch-list). You only pay after verifiable progress. Custom homes follow a bank draw schedule coordinated with your construction lender. We accept check or ACH — no credit card fees added.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, always. If your project requires a permit (most remodels, additions, new construction, and basement finishes do), we pull it, schedule the inspections, and close it out. Unpermitted work causes resale problems, insurance problems, and can force tear-out — we don't cut that corner.
Do you work with my designer or architect?
Absolutely. We collaborate with your designer or architect throughout. If you don't have one, we can recommend trusted Kansas partners and coordinate the relationship. For smaller projects, we often handle design in-house to save you the extra fee.
What warranty do you offer?
One year of workmanship warranty on everything we build, starting the day you take possession. If something we installed isn't right, we come back and fix it — no invoice, no argument. Manufacturer warranties on appliances, roofing, windows, and cabinets pass through from the manufacturer and typically run 10–lifetime depending on the product.
Do you handle change orders?
Yes. Change orders are always documented in writing with a specific scope, price, and schedule impact — and signed by both parties before any change work starts. You'll never get surprised on your final invoice with undocumented change charges.

Can you help with design if I don't know what I want?
Yes. We'll sketch 2-3 layout options, walk through rough pricing on each, and help you pick the one that fits your budget and your life. For bigger remodels and custom homes we'll bring in our architect partners; for kitchens and baths we often handle it in-house.
